Dear Sisters and Brothers,

On August 25, 2021, Ordinance No. 187134 regarding Mandatory Vaccinations (Ordinance) was implemented by the City of Los Angeles (City).   Because the City did not give IBEW, Local 18 advance written notice of the Ordinance and an opportunity to meet and confer with the City before implementing it, we filed an Unfair Labor Practice on behalf of the membership.  In the Unfair Labor Practice, Local 18 asks the City’s Employee Relations Board to invalidate the Ordinance until the City has bargained with Local 18 in good faith over the content of the ordinance and its effect on Local 18 members.

So far, we are the only union that has filed an Unfair Labor Practice over this Ordinance.
